Gold in Show

Last week, OOSO Trustee Matt and friends hosted our plant sale, situated beside the main entrance of the Chruchill Hospital, raising an incredible £1,000 towards our Upper GI ‘shopping list’ of items .  It was a busy day, very well supported by hospital staff and literally hundreds of people stopping by to browse, chat and buy plants, making for a very positive occasion.

We have many contributors to thank, for their hard work and dedication producing an impressive array of top quality plants that would be hard to match anywhere.

We wholeheartedly thank Steve and Tom Carter, and David and Jean Adams for literally car-loads of plants and selling them throughout the day with expert advice! We also thank Anne and Kay of OUHT for their very generous contributions, and Bev and Carolyn for their fabulous display and support – all ‘sold out’ to the very last plant; and finally Carol and Dave Parker of Wheatley Farm Shop for their very kind donation of plants in support of OOSO.  All your invaluable support will go towards helping patients and their families through incredibly difficult times.

A reminder about 29 June.
The next OOSO Meeting will be held a little North of Oxford along the A34 at The Manor Hotel, Weston on the Green, OX25 3QL. We will have a presentation by Bob Vernon (an ex-patient) about his experiences, followed by a Q&A session hosted by Nick Maynard.

The meeting is on the same date and at the same venue as the OOSO Summer Lunch.

The menu and booking instructions for the lunch are on the
OOSO web site. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click to email me with your menu preferences. There are still a few seats available, but please don't leave it until the last minute to book. I'd hate for you to be disappointed.
See you soon.

Kind regards
