About our publication
The Oxfordshire Oesophageal and Stomach Organisation (OOSO) is committed
to the provision of high-quality information for people with a diagnosis of
oesophageal and/or stomach cancer, as well as their family and friends.
This publication was written by patients and their carers gathering together our
many years of knowledge from our experiences. All information is checked by
members of the clinical team. We do not profess to be medically trained.
We make every effort to ensure that the information we provide is accurate, but it
should not be relied upon to reflect the current state of medical research, which is
constantly changing. If you are concerned about your health, you should consult
your doctor.

A thought …
Cancer is a word that strikes fear into most of us, but medicines and treatments
have improved dramatically over the years. We can all help ourselves in our
treatment and recovery by maintaining a positive mental attitude and keeping
ourselves as fit as possible.
